Ok my loyal followers. Here is the first look at my VERY FIRST LIVE THEME!! You can see a live version here.
This is a very early look, there are still a few bugs to iron out but it’s nearly ready. I’ll be giving it away free to anyone who wants it for a limited time only. In return, I would hope anyone I give it to lets me know of anything not working as it should or anything they would like added etc.
Main features at this stage include.
- Support for all post types.
- Multi column responsive design. Looks great on iPad.
- Disqus comments enabled.
- Google analytics enabled.

This is Kelly. A simple single column theme inspired by the first photo and articles in surfing magazines. Still not 100% polished but I really like the direction of this. Please let me know if you like it.
This is Michelle. (Noticed how I’ve started giving each design a name? I find it easier for a theme to have a personality).
Notice how she effortlessly showcases content with little care for detail. Rolling over each post will show the number of comments/notes and clicking on each posts will take the user to the permalink and comments page.

But here is Jake. Jake is a no nonsense simple, strong and elegant theme. He’ll sit quietly in the background and let your posts do the talking.

Fourth design. Thought why not have every post stretching to the size of the browser. Would need the user to restrict to 1 post per page. Buttons down the bottom would cycle through posts one at a time or go forward or back 5 posts. Not fully happy with the title and nav at the top but will re-visit this if I ever get round to making this theme live.
Wanted to try using some darker colours here and using serif fonts. I was thinking about they type of design I would want my generative art experiments to appear on. Would move to single or three columns depending on screen. Text on image would only appear on rollover to keep the look clean. Will be optimised for photo, video and text posts.
My second design sketch. I thought about doing a design with a parallax background effect… I’d use multiple backgrounds (css3) to create a parallax effect with the triangles in the background.
The design I’ve been working on for a few days. Think it can still be improved.
